No Limit at The Borgata
Mood:  irritated
I ventured into the world of no limit hold'em a few nights ago. Like many others, I experienced what is known as beginner's luck. After only about an hour, I stood up and left the table with a little over a $1,000 profit. Not bad. I was even smart enough to cash in my chips for actual MONEY. But my beginner's luck would turn quickly into gambling misfortune. Greed got the better part of me when I decided to make my way back down to the Poker pit. Unfortunately, the hands I was getting the second time around were not as good and I very quickly dropped not only my profits but about $500 in my own money too. I was a defeated man. The only thing left for me to do is put my head down, hands in my empty pocket, and walk around aimlessly wondering how can I be so stupid. The next day I realized something. Even though the outcome would support my stupidity and lack of control, the chips were stacked against me. I mean, this is exactly how casinos make their money. Many a better men have fallen prey to the same type of stupidity. But I say it's time to stop blaming the victim. Let's start blaming the criminals. Now you may be thinking I'm going to far by calling the cainos criminals but if you think about it, don't you feel robbed everytime you leave those places. I did a few nights ago...
